Miami Valley Meditation Instructors in Dayton, Ohio

An-shu Stephen Kinryu-Jien Hayes and his wife Rumiko teach self-discovery empowerment through their SKH Quest martial arts and meditation school network. He graduated from Miami University in Ohio, went to live in Japan in the 1970s, and then traveled to Tibet and India in the 1980s, seeking answers to deep spiritual questions from childhood. In the 1990s he traveled as security escort with Nobel Peace Prize winner the Dalai Lama of Tibet, and in 1991 took ordination as a vajrayana esoteric meditation teacher. More details here…

An-shu Stephen says, “I am so fortunate to have found the inner exploration practices of meditation, these mind sciences not commonly available to people in Dayton back in the 1950s when I was growing up. I am therefore delighted to be able to share today in any way I can these marvelous tools for better understanding and working with the inner and outer forces that shape the realities of our lives.”

 

Kathy Joseph DVM is a graduate of the University of Dayton and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to her career as a veterinarian, she is the mother of three children and an active To Shin Do Black Belt martial artist. She serves as a Director of The Peter T. Joseph Foundation and on a variety of committees at The Miami Valley School. Her passions include experiential education and supporting herself and others to be active participants in life.

Kathy says, “I meditate to ensure that I am living my life congruently, that my intentions, words and actions are aligned. I seek balance in my life so I can connect with deeper meaning and achieve clarity, understanding and peace in the midst of a life full of challenges as well as opportunity.”

 

 Richard Watoshi-Jisho Sears, Psy.D., MBA is a licensed psychologist and core faculty member of the Psy.D. Program in Clinical Psychology at Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He also provides psychological and business consultation and coaching services for individuals, businesses, and non-profit agencies. A 4th Degree Black Belt in To-Shin Do, he also teaches martial arts classes at the Dayton Quest Center of Stephen K. Hayes. In 1991 he took ordination as a vajrayana esoteric meditation teacher.
